Obituary of Donald Charles Arbuckle
LINACY – Donald Charles “Donnie” Arbuckle, 76, Linacy, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Raymond Edgar and Margaret Mary (MacNeil) Arbuckle. Donnie was employed as an automobile mechanic for many years, working for many garages and companies in the area. He retired from the former Charles Matheson Irving, New Glasgow in 2003. Donnie was an avid fisherman, hunter and well-known gunsmith. He was a former member of the local gun club and a skilled marksman, who competed provincially in younger years. Donnie was a quiet, hard-working man who was a jack of all trades. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Carrol; daughter, Wendy (Sherry), New Glasgow; sons, Kevin (Tammy), Little Harbour; Robbie (Ann), Pictou Landing; Glenn (Lisa), Cooks Brooks; grandchildren, Carla, Amanda, Joel, Rorey, Aiden, Ashley and Julie; great-grandchildren, Emma, Sky and Kaydee.
In honor of Donnie’s wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of his life.
