Obituary of Gerald Edward Vacheresse
THORBURN – Gerald Edward Vacheresse, 61, Thorburn, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Kathleen Florence (Rogers) Vacheresse, Thorburn and the late Edward William Vacheresse. Gerald enjoyed music, fishing and spending time with his many friends. He was an antique collector and a very kind person. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Besides his mother, Kathleen, he is survived by sisters, Marilyn Uranick, Guelph, Ont.; Carol MacEachern, Stellarton; Jean Kenney and Fay Pettipas, Thorburn; brothers, Ted Rogers, Westville; Wayne Vacheresse, Thorburn; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Edward, he was predeceased by sister, Paulette Terris; brother, Paul Vacheresse.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26th in the chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn.
Donations may be made in Gerald’s memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or Pictou County SPCA.
