Obituary of Eva Pearl Hayden

LITTLE EGYPT ROAD – Eva Pearl Hayden, 101, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 in the Manor, surrounded by her family. Born in Londonderry, she was a daughter of the late John William and Alice Mary (Cole) Frazee. Her compassion and heart was evident in all facets of her life. During the Second World War, Eva supported the war effort by working in the Gun Shop at Trenton Works. She was then employed for a period of time at the former McRae’s Restaurant and also the Dragon Bowl for Joe Chow. However, her most cherished job was that of being a “Mother” to her six children, grandchildren and many relatives and community children whom needed a home, love, support and guidance. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow. Surviving are her daughters, Florence Hayden, New Glasgow; Carol Campbell, Westville; Kenneth Paul (Elizabeth) Hayden, Sylvester; Wayne (Beverley) Hayden, Pictou Landing; Leamon (Lynn) Hayden, Pictou Landing Road; Gary (Audrey) Hayden, Sylvester; special mention to her honorary son George Frazee; grandchildren, Tyron MacPherson ; Leighton Todd MacPherson; Cindi Hayden; John Jack; Terry Hayden; Patricia Hayden; Shawn Meisner; Lisa Hayden MacFarlane; Jessica Hayden; Rhen Hayden; Leighton Hayden; Jeremy Hayden; Aaron Hayden; 13 great-grandchildren, three great, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wendell Hayden; granddaughter, Tracey Marie Hayden; grandsons, Kenneth Darrell Hayden and Jason William Hayden; sisters, Helen Bugley, Alice Anderson, Jessie Oakley; brothers, John Frazee, James Frazee, William Frazee and Isaac Frazee; a sibling in infancy. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 21st. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 22nd in Christian Fellowship Church, 489 Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
