Obituary of Cameron Daniel Hawley

CHURCHVILLE – Cameron Daniel Hawley, 77, Churchville, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. Born in Mabou, he was a son of the late Daniel Christy and Mary Elizabeth (Cameron) Hawley. Cameron was employed as an overhead crane operator at the former Trenton Works for over 34 years. He was a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed “tinkering” with all sorts of equipment. Cameron believed it was “better to fix than buy”. He was passionate about looking after his animals, always ensuring their wellbeing. Cameron’s dog, Angel, was his constant companion. He has left a legacy of hard work, a strong independent spirit which never gave up. Surviving are his daughters, Peggy (Allan) Chabassol, Linacy; Cheryl Taylor, Trenton; sons, Cameron (Lisa), Trenton; Danny (Apryl), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Ryan, Kennedy, Madison, Bradley, Brooke, Laura, Logan, Sophie, Gavin, Cayla, Ashtyn, Shyleigh and Leelyn; great-granddaughter, Everleigh; sisters, Tina Dzienis, Petersburg, Ont.; Patsy Hawley, Stellarton; June (Neil) Mason, Truro; Mary Hawley, Westville; brother, Roy Hawley, Abercrombie; sister-in-law, Inez Hawley, Linacy; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Richard; nephew, Trevor and Jeff Mason. In keeping with Cameron’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
