Obituary of E. Frances Luddington

RIVERTON – E. Frances Luddington, 88, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Villa. Born in Boylston, Guysborough Co., she was one of 13 children born to the late Coleman and Ellen (Lucas) Ross. Frances moved to New Glasgow at a young age and all her working life was employed in the Laundry Departments of the Aberdeen Hospital and later, Glen Haven Manor. Frances enjoyed her retirement, spending summers at her cottage on the Milford Haven River, Guysborough County. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Westville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who possessed an unwavering faith in her God. Surviving are her sons, John (Alma) Ross, Woodstock, N.B.; Sterling “Stu” Luddington, New Harbour and his friend, Doris, Truro; grandchildren, Jeff, Taiwan; Timothy (Morgan), Truro; Callee, Halifax; Debbie and Janette, Woodstock; great-grandchildren, Mya and John, Truro; brother, Charles Ross, Sudbury, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Roland S. Luddington; 11 brothers and sisters. The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Friday, March 6 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ryan King officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in memory of Frances to Riverside Cemetery. The Luddington family wish to thank the Valley View Villa staff for the excellent care they took of their mom.
