Obituary of Lawrence Tupper Willett
MACLELLAN’S BROOK – Lawrence Tupper Willett, 70, MacLellan’s Brook, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Ola Evelyn (Luddington) Willett, Truro and the late Lawrence Joseph Willett. Tupper was a welder with the former Trenton Works and operated Willett’s Auto Repair, MacLellan’s Brook. He was a member of the Pictou County Antique Car Club and enjoyed traveling throughout North America to car shows. Tupper was an avid NASCAR fan, often traveling to New Hampshire and Florida to attend races – always cheering for Tony Stewart. He and his wife, Linda, spent many enjoyable summers camping in Prince Edward Island with family and friends. Tupper possessed a wonderful sense of humour, assigning all his family and friends a nickname, which now will be a cherished memory. He was a loving and affectionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving besides his mother, Evelyn, are his loving wife, Linda; sons, Michael (Kathryn), Halifax; Martin (Debby), Winnipeg, Man.; Jeff (Jessica), New Glasgow; Trevor (Carleigh), Thorburn; grandchildren, Spencer, Tyler, Ysabella, Matthew and Tessa; sisters, Elaine Cancian, Truro; Kathy (Gary) Coakes, Bedford; Lorraine Clyburne, Lower Sackville; brother, John, Fraser’s Mountain; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by granddaughter, Ada; brothers-in-law, Cal Cancian and Brian Clyburne.
A public graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 25th in Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan's Brook with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
