ANTIGONISH – Winston Jordon Hattie, 84, Antigonish, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 14, 2013 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Argyle, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late William Anthony and Sarah Gertrude (Jordan) Hattie. Winston began his career as a clerk with St. Andrews Co-op in 1945 and retired as an accountant with Co-op Atlantic Financial Services Department in 1992. Winston possessed a quick wit, unique sense of humor and kindness. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, Winston was pre-deceased by his brother, Harold; sisters, Annie May, Lois Nichols and Elizabeth Newell. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Bruce Morrison presiding. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery, Argyle. Donations may be made in Winston’s memory to Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
