Obituary of Margaret Helen MacEachern

NEW GLASGOW – Margaret Helen MacEachern, 91, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Little Harbour Rd., New Glasgow passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the Manor. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Ellen (Prentice) Bruce. Prior to retirement, she had been employed for 19 years in the dietary department at Glen Haven Manor. Helen was a member of First United Church, Trenton and The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28, Ladies Auxiliary, Stellarton. She had been a member of the Zone 6 Colour Party for many years. Helen enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles, dancing, music and attending the Sunday evening socials at the Stellarton legion. She was a loving mother and adoring grandmother, who cherished time spent with family. Surviving are sons, Barry (Joan), Marshalls Crossing; Hugh (Carol), Brian (Eleanor), William “Billie”, all of Trenton; daughter-in-law, Lorraine, Trenton; brother-in-law, Clode Morin, Ottawa; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great, great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Edna Livermore, Sylvia MacKenzie, Isabel Hessian, Jean Maughan and Olive Morin; brothers, Hugh, Harvey, Leslie, Robert and Aubrey. In honour of Helen’s wishes a private graveside service will take place in Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
