Obituary of Joan Margaret Livingstone

NEW GLASGOW – Joan Margaret “Sis” Livingstone, 73, Vimy Court, Bible Hill, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Born in Goldboro, she was a daughter of the late Kitchener Russell and Ann Bell (Smith) Crooks. In younger years, she was employed briefly as a hairdresser, however, throughout her life; she prided herself in being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Joan was a resilient lady, who enjoyed humour and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Presley. Joan’s faith in her Lord, who she loved, never wavered. She looked forward to her eternal reunion with her parents, husband and sister. Surviving are daughter, Debra (Reg) McNutt, Truro; grandson, Presley Langille, Westville; brother, Donald (Peggy) Crooks, Ontario; niece, Wendy (Bill) Muirhead, Stellarton; nephew, Paul Coady, Westville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James L. “Jim” Livingstone; sister, Pauline Coady; brother, Donald Crooks. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday October 18 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Lorne Street cemetery. Donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. (please click link to donate online now)
