Obituary of Evelyn May Reid

PLYMOUTH – Evelyn May Reid, 84, Plymouth, formerly of Sydney, passed away, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Mary Myrtle (Matthews) Little. She had been employed with the former MT&T as a supervisor in Sydney and as an operator in New Glasgow for many years. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Surviving are her son, Kim (Cathy) Reid, Plymouth; step-granddaughter, Bonnie Davidson and her daughter, Michayla, Stellarton; several nieces and nephews; chosen nephew, Charles “Butch” Denty. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Leslie Reid; sisters, Bessie “Bess” Planetta and Louise Denty; brother, Ronald Little and a brother in infancy. A public graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14th in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, George Street, Sydney with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
