Frances Eileen “Fran” MacDonald, 92, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Egerton, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Manor. Born in Egerton, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Maude Claire (Moore) McCarron. Fran was a hairdresser, operating Fran’s Beauty Salon for over 40 years and prior to retirement, was employed with Glen Haven Manor. She was a member of the former St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Egerton, and Ladies Guild. Fran was very active in her church and community, serving in many capacities, especially, organizing and overseeing the Ladies Guild Bingo. She possessed the gift of charity and faithfully supported many charitable needs. Fran was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For Fran, “Life has changed; not ended!” Surviving are her daughters, Patricia MacDonald, Egerton; Claire MacDonald, Egerton; son, Mike (Sharon), Fort McMurray, Alta.; grandchildren, Christopher, Barrett, Tyler, Megan and Adrian; great-grandchildren, Grayer, Lain, Sawyer, Avyn and Evelyn; sister, Nora (Peter) Forsythe; brother, Jerome (Audrey) McCarron; sister-in-law, Carole McCarron; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John R.; infant son, Kevin Joseph; son-in-law, Jerome MacDonald; siblings, Bill (Mary), Bernadette (Irving), John Brian (Betty), Beatrice (Sandy), Leo, Evelyn (Edward) and Patrick. A private service will be held in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Egerton.
