THE PONDS – Dorothy Evelyn Kennedy, 99, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of The Ponds, passed away, Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born at The Ponds, she was a daughter of the late George William and Susie Matilda (Dempsey) Mason. She was an adherent of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Merigomish. Surviving are her son, Dean Kennedy, The Ponds; grandchildren, Adam (Rhonda) Kennedy, Jody Kennedy, Julie Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Liam, Matthew and Alesha Kennedy; sister, Myrtle Huggan, Avondale; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Harvey, Stanley, Orville, Henry and Douglas in infancy. The family will receive visitors from 12 – 1:50 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Pat Rose officiating. Interment will be in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney’s River. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to Murray’s Point Cemetery Fund.
