Obituary of Douglas Michael Eisan
NEW GLASGOW – Douglas Michael “Dougie Jr.” Eisan, 61, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Norma Street, New Glasgow, passed away, Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 7, 1950 in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Douglas Vernon and Bernice Irene (Martell) Eisan. Doug was a member of the former St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Trenton. Prior to retirement in 2002, he had been employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for over 30 years. Doug very much enjoyed socializing with his friends at the Rack & Cue Snooker Club, New Glasgow. In earlier years, he was an avid dart player at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow. Doug also enjoyed playing cards and spending time at the family camp at Black Brook, hunting, fishing and enjoying life. Doug was a loving brother and uncle, who cherished time spent with family and friends.
Surviving are brothers, Phillip (Peggy) Eisan, New Glasgow; Lloyd (Jamie) Eisan, Trenton; nephew, Derek (Amy) Eisan and daughters, Breanna, Natalie and Harper, Trenton; niece, Leslie (Mitchel) Rankin, and children, Hailie and Austin, Trenton; uncle, Donald Laffin, New Glasgow; cousins, Paula (Bill) Richards, Trenton and Juanita Koszkulics, Little Harbour; numerous cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lewis in infancy.
There will be no visitation at Doug’s request. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong presiding. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
The Eisan family wish to thank the physicians and staff of Glen Haven Manor, Main Infirmary, Aberdeen Hospital, ER, 4th floor, ICU and PCU, for their excellent care of Doug. The family wish to especially thank Peter Thompson and Sr. Mary Mahon for their kindness to Doug.
