Obituary of Beatrice Alma Cameron
MACLELLAN’S BROOK – Beatrice Alma Cameron, 96, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Port Hood Island, she was a daughter of the late Albro Charles and Clara Jane (Watts) Smith. During the Second World War Beatrice worked in the Gun Shop, Trenton. Following, she was employed with C.I.B.C for a short time and then taught school in Port Hood Island and Trenton for a number of years. She was an avid quilt maker for many years. Beatrice was a faithful member of New Life Pentecostal Church, Stellarton where she served as pianist, Sunday School Teacher and in many other capacities.
Surviving are son, Paul Cameron, Berwick; daughters, Sheila (Wayne) Grosvold, Aylmer, Ont.; Charlotte (Ken) Arbeau, Plaster Rock, N.B.; sister-in-law, Edna Smith, Antigonish; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, David; granddaughter, Heidi Bartlett; sisters, Ada Myers, Viola Smith, Myrtle Myers, Clara Smith and Blanche MacDonald; brothers Everett, Cecil and Charles; step-mother, Ola; step-sister, Vivian Tobey; step-brothers, Frank and Earl Cameron; daughter-in-law, Anne Cameron.
The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in New Life United Pentecostal Church, 172 North Foord Street, Stellarton where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Duane Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester.
