Obituary of Melvin Neil Snell
WALKERVILLE – Melvin Neil Snell, 63, Walkerville, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Keith John and Shirley Helen (Purvis) Snell. Neil was a forestry worker and a talented wood worker. He was a quiet, gentle man who dearly loved his family. Neil possessed a thirst for knowledge which was evident in conversation and his storytelling. He enjoyed being his “own boss”, the freedom he found in nature and above all, his role as grandfather. Neil leaves a rich legacy and example for his family to follow.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; children, Neil (Angela) Snell, Oxbow, Sask.; Mark Snell, Stellarton; Jennifer Snell (Dion), Pictou Landing; Michael Snell (Jody), Stellarton ; grandchildren, Carson, Cayden, Callie, Colby, Nevaeh, Jayden, Bryden, Devon, Farrah, Tyra, Michael and Katie; siblings, Cathy (Lionel) Arbuckle and Virginia (James) Crawford, Foxbrook; Timmy (Crystal) Snell, Walkerville; Dena (Russell) Green, Hopewell; Betty (Ricky) Patterson, Westville; Paula (Tim) Morgan, Trenton; Jacki Bailey, Halifax; an aunt; several uncles; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Valerie Bailey; many aunts and uncles.
In honour of Neil’s life, his family will celebrate his life privately.
