ALMA – David Wayne Rorison, 39, Alma, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, surrounded by his family, after a tragic accident. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Reta Mae (Haley) Smith and Peter John Rorison. David was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for the past 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, listening to music, playing Wii with his children and listening to his wife play the piano. David was a hardworking man who put his wife and children first. He was a patient teacher to his children and a loving partner to his wife. Surviving besides his mother, Reta and step-father, Doug Smith, Pine Tree are his wife of 14 years, Anastasia “Staci” Murphy; children, Xander, Declan and Jorja Rorison; brother, Donald (Crissie) Rorison, Scotch Hill; aunt, Margaret (Wayne) Hubert, Thorburn; cousins, Carrie and Mark; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Kathleen and father-in-law, Charles. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 and 3-4:45 p.m. Thursday, July 3 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in memory of David towards his children’s education.
