Obituary of Douglas Norman Robson
PINE TREE – Douglas Norman Robson, 66, Pine Tree, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Margaret (Forsythe) Robson, Valley View Villa, Riverton and the late George William Robson. Norman was employed with the former Trenton Works from 1972-2009 and following was employed in the oil and gas industry in Alberta in refinery construction, start up and quality control. He was a Red Seal, Electronic Repair Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Electrician and Industrial Electrician. Norman was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed listening to old country, driving his four-wheeler, working at Trenton Works and spending time with his friends. Norman was a kind, gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving besides his mother, Margaret, are his wife, Helen Marie (Miller); daughter, Lauri Robson and her children, Sawyer and Tegan, Pine Tree; son, George (Elizabeth) Robson and their daughters, Rebecca and Charlotte, Leminster; sisters, Helen Gallant, Chance Harbour; Beverley (Clair) Vardon, Calgary, Alta.; Jo-Anne Robson, Pine Tree; brothers, Charlie (Nancy) Robson, Halifax; Howard (Debbie) Robson, Merigomish; Paul (Rhonda) Robson, Gander, Nfld.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by son, Aaron William Robson in infancy; brother, Gary Robson.
Norman’s family will hold a Celebration of Life in the Linacy Fire Hall from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, July 13th, 2019 with graveside service to follow at 5 p.m. in Woodburn Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
