Obituary of David Craig MacKenzie
EASTERN PASSAGE/LOWER BARNEY’S RIVER – David Craig MacKenzie, 48, Eastern Passage, formerly of Lower Barney’s River and Glace Bay, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 as the result of an industrial accident in Fort McMurray.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of Jeanette (Admond) MacKenzie, Dartmouth and the late Neil David MacKenzie. He was a generous, fun-loving person, who loved fishing, hunting and camping.
A loving son, husband, father, uncle and friend, he will be sadly missed.
Surviving besides his mother, Jeanette, are his wife of 25 years, Mary (Turner); sons, David, Eastern Passage; Ryan, at home; sisters, Margie (Barry), Glace Bay; Mona (Rick), Edmonton; Jackie (Gordie), Glace Bay; Lois (Peter), Ontario; father-in-law, Allister “Al” (Vivian) Turner, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Dave; mother-in-law, Patsy Mason.
The family will receive visitors 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesday August 21 in P & K MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
