Obituary of Florence Ann MacDonald
LISMORE – Florence Ann “Laura” MacDonald, 75, Lismore, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in Arisaig, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Florence (MacEachern) MacDonald. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and Altar Society, Lismore. She was employed for several years at the local fish plant from where she retired in 1998. Laura enjoyed gardening and was always proud of her geraniums. She was a loving sister, companion, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her brothers, John MacDonald Jr., Lismore; Dougald R. (Sharon) MacDonald, Victoria, B.C.; special friend and companion, Samuel Murdock, The Ponds; nieces, Robin (Rick) Biernacki, Lisa (Mark) Hegar, Victoria; great-niece, Kaelyn Biernacki, Victoria; many cousins.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 21st in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22nd in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lismore.
