Obituary of John Clement MacKinnon
LISMORE – John Clement MacKinnon, 72, Lismore, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish with his loving family by his side.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Ivan Joseph and Mary C. “Tadda” (MacDonald) MacKinnon.
John was an electrician in his earlier years, a lobster fisherman for the last 30 years, loyal Montreal Canadiens fan, enjoyed tinkering on his tractor and in his garage.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Mary “Tat”; daughters, Linda (Jeff) Speedy, Fredericton, N.B.; Johnanne (Mark) Lohnes, Bedford; grandchildren, Morgan, Brett, Kylee, Grady, and Kinnon; sister, Janice M. Ross, Antigonish; brothers, Daniel E. (Doris), Dartmouth; Carl G. “Gerry” (Annie), Detroit, Michigan; John Robert “Chuckie” (Mary), Barney’s River.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by daughter, Nicole; brothers, Brennan; and William in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 16th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17th from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore, with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
