To the family I am sorry to hear of Alma's passing. We worked together at Woolworths and Woolco. She was a great mentor as well as a great teacher. We spent many hours in the Ladies wear and on the salesfloor. Alma was a beautiful soul inside and out. My thoughts are with you at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I knew Alma from my time at First Baptist and found her to be a very loving and caring woman with a compassionate heart. She always supported and encouraged the youth of the church and was an overall delight to know.

Having grown up away from Nova Scotia and later on leaving Canada, I'm glad we had the opportunity to write each other by email so many times during your final years. You were the only one of my four grandparents to learn how to type, and that at the age of 85 or so (the first email from you showed up in my inbox in 2007), and that was a big help in staying in touch considering how much harder it would have been to do the same by phone with connecting from abroad, hearing issues and all the rest. I'm also glad you got to see the wedding photos and videos last year. Joy said it best and this part is worth repeating: "An amazingly nurturing woman...keeping in touch right to the end, an absolutely rock solid supportive and loving Grandmother to our 3 sons through good times and difficult ones, always praying for the family, never missed a birthday and so, so much more. She was strong and kind and honest and faithful." "Rock solid supportive and loving" is indeed the best way to sum her up in a few words. Despite being sad to see her gone I am glad that her passing was so peaceful and took place in the exact place and way she wanted.

Alma was very special to me. An amazingly nurturing woman, my mother in law for many years, keeping in touch right to the end, an absolutely rock solid supportive and loving Grandmother to our 3 sons through good times and difficult ones, always praying for the family, never missed a birthday and so, so much more. She was strong and kind and honest and faithful. I was in awe of her in so many ways. Rest well amazing lady!
