Obituary of Joseph Phillip Drapeau
NEW GLASGOW – Joseph Phillip Noël Drapeau, 89, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly Montreal, Que., passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Manor.
Born in Sainte-Luce-sur-Mer, Que., he was a son of the late Joseph Etienne and Marie Eugenie (Lavoie) Drapeau. Prior to retirement, Noël was employed as a carpenter for over 45 years in Montreal. Prior to moving to Glen Haven Manor, he faithfully attended Maranatha Bible Church, New Glasgow. Noël was a quiet, caring man who possessed a wonderful sense of humour and enduring faith in God. He is best described by his wife as a kind and loving, “perfect gentleman”.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; daughters, Guylaine (John) Pastuszko, Laval, Que.; Susie Drapeau (Eric), Dunham, Que.; Johanne Drapeau, Laval; Danielle (Normand) Hevey, Red Deer, Alta.; sons, Robert (Nancy) Drapeau, Stanley Bridge, P.E.I.; Paul (Nicole) Drapeau, L’Épiphanie, Que; several sisters and brothers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by several sisters and brothers.
The family will receive visitors 10-10:50 a.m. Saturday March 26th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Stearns officiating. Interment will be in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow.
