Obituary of Colleen Heather Pollard
WESTVILLE – Colleen Heather Pollard, 65, Westville, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 23, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Elizabeth (Steeves) Pollard. Colleen was a graduate of the Aberdeen School of Nursing, Class of 1975, where she was employed for over 40 years including Day Surgery, Eye Surgery and Second South. She was member of the Salvation Army, Westville and an active member of The Life Centre, New Glasgow. She exhibited her artistic side through her beautiful hand-made quilts, knitting, and was proud of her collection of porcelain dolls and enjoyed travelling around the world with no destination in mind.
Surviving are sisters, Donna (John) Siddall, Moncton, N.B.; Judith LeVangie, New Glasgow; Virginia (Wayne) Vacheresse, New Glasgow; brothers, Calvin (Joyce), Fredericton, N.B.; Robert (Patricia), Calgary, Alta.; Michael (Ann), Halifax; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth; Patricia; brother, Daniel.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. In keeping with Colleen’s wishes a private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
