Obituary of Debra Ann MacDonald

COALBURN – Debra Ann “Debbie” MacDonald, 55, Coalburn, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 16, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Josephine M. (Ouellette) Wilson, Fraser’s Mountain and the late Samuel Wilson. Debbie chose to be a wife and mother, excelling at both. She enjoyed camping in Stanhope, P.E.I. each year with her family, memories her family will cherish forever. Her work ethic, devotion and love are her enduring legacy. Surviving besides her mother, Josephine, are her husband of 38 years, Raymond MacDonald; daughters, Sandra Richardson, Thorburn; Crystal MacDonald (Ryan Brake), Sydney; sons, Ivan R. (Leah) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Steven (Mandy) MacDonald, Stellarton; grandchildren, Shauna, Raymond, Zander, Colton, Lucus and Gabrielle; sisters, Rose (Jim) McKinley, Linacy; Colleen (Howard) Posti, Eckville, Alta.; June MacPhee (Roy Prest), Westville; Christine Carey, MacLellan’s Brook; Brenda (Richard) Kenney, Priestville; Wanda (Russell) Priest, Blue Mountain; many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Sam, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Russell Carey. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan’s Brook. Donations may be made in Debbie’s memory to Pictou County Food Bank. (To donate online, please click on the underlined charity.)
