Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Isabel Connors
TRENTON – Joan Elizabeth Isabell Connors, 91, Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton, formerly of Pictou Landing, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 19, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family and held in the arms of her daughters, Beverley and Roxanne.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Annie (Delaney) Chisholm. Following marriage to John Connors on June 25, 1949, she became a devoted homemaker, raising her six children to become responsible citizens. Joan was more than a mother; she was also her children’s “best friend in the whole wide world”. Her home was always filled with her children’s friends and she loved each and everyone of them. As each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came into her life, she became, as her family states, “the best sweetheart and great nannie”. For Joan, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are daughters, Beverley (Blaise) MacGillivary, Trenton; Roxanne Connors, Stellarton; Carol Fraser, Trenton; sons, David Connors, Trenton; Stephen (Alice) Connors, Alberta; Jackie (Evelyn) Connors, Jerusalem, Israel; grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Shey, Lacie, Jocelyn, Robin, Lindsay, Michael, Samantha, Sean; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Cohen, Evan, Tatum, Carter, Pinkus, Chani, Levi, Moshe, Shaina, Esti, Rachmy, Moshy, Pini, Levi, Chaya and Feigy; sisters, Ilene (John) Chisholm, Antigonish; Katie (Jim) Fitzpatrick, Westville; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, John Francis Connors; brothers, Alfred, Ernest, Alex, Clarence and Johnnie; daughter-in-law, Kim Bruce Connors; niece, Sheila Fitzpatrick.
Joan’s family will celebrate her life privately.
The Connors family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital, ER and Fourth floor staff for the wonderful care Joan received.
