Obituary of Frederick Arthur David
PICTOU – Frederick Arthur “Fred” David, 69, Pictou, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Elizabeth David. He was a foreman with Grohmann Knives, Pictou for many years, retiring in 2008. Fred enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and listening to classic country music.
Surviving are his companion, Anna; daughters, Mary David, Edmonton, Alta.; Rose Lynch, Pictou; step-daughters, Anna Marie Gerrior (Henry Nairn), Hamilton, Ont.; Katreena (Roger) Hurley, Springville; sons, Robert David, Joseph (Teri) David, Pictou; Kevin (Sandra) David, Stellarton; Fred Jr. (Twilla) David, Eureka; step-sons, Wayne MacBain (Pat Cahoon), Leduc, Alta.; Paul MacBain, Oyster Bed, P.E.I.; sisters, Lillian Pace, Ecum Secum; Sandra (Ed) Birch, Dartmouth; brothers, Reginald David, Port Felix; Duncan David, Truro; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Georgina David; brothers, Wilfred and Nelson; step-daughters, Linda Hayne and Donna Nairn.
There will be no visitation at Fred’s request. A public graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in Thorburn Cemetery with Father Peter MacDonald presiding.
