Obituary of Robert Charles Odo
CALGARY, Alta. – Robert Charles Odo Jr., 36, Calgary, Alta., formerly of MacPherson’s Mills, passed away suddenly, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Calgary.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Robert Charles Sr. and Marina Lynn (Coady) Odo, Linacy, and grandson of John and Marina (Nightingale) Coady, MacPherson’s Mills.
Robert was employed in the Oil and Gas industry, working Snubbing oil wells. Previously, he had been employed as a forestry machine operator with Hodgson’s and Langille’s. He was a “jack of all trades” and had been a roofer for many years. Robert enjoyed playing pool, listening to music, cheering on the Maple Leaf’s and Blue Jay’s, spending time with his friends and faithful companion, Jake. Above all, his family were very important to him, especially his loving wife, Julie.
Surviving besides his parents and maternal grandparents, are his wife, Julie Moser and her children, Stephanie Moser (Jarett MacKenzie), Calgary and their children, Ace and Kash MacKenzie; Becca Moser, New Glasgow; sister, Brittany Odo, Linacy; maternal aunts, Donna (Fred) Orhling, Iron Rock; Valerie (Fred) Croke, Cooks Brook; Tanya Crossan (Harry Daigle), Moncton, N.B.; Shelley (Mike) Ferguson, New Glasgow; maternal uncle, John Coady Jr. (Lori Matheson), Salt Springs; paternal aunts, Judy Odo-Russell, New Glasgow; Marie (Fred) Cook, MacLellan’s Mountain; chosen aunt, Carol (Doug) MacLeod, Thorburn; numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Robert William “Bob” and Rita Elizabeth (DeYoung) Odo.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 30th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31st, 2018 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
