Obituary of Maxwell Belding Lewis

NEW GLASGOW – Maxwell Belding “Max” Lewis, 61, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late David Harold and Agnes Dunlop Craig (Davie) Lewis. Prior to retirement due to ill health, he had been employed with the Town of New Glasgow as a machine operator for 35 years. Max enjoyed spending time with his cats, Babe and Radar. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Eileen Mary (Pellerine); sister, Janet (John) Stewart, Anderson’s Mountain; sons, John Victor Lewis, New Glasgow; Howard Edwin Lewis, Edmonton, Alta.; granddaughter, Loriann; grandson, Jesse; great-grandson, Nicholas; niece, Agnes; nephew, John Jr.; grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, John and Howard. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 7 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Max’s memory to Pictou County SPCA. (click on link to donate online now)
