Obituary of Joseph Bernard Ralph Bellefontaine
STELLARTON – Joseph Bernard Ralph Bellefontaine, 77, Stellarton, formerly of Bailey’s Brook, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Canso, he was a son of the late Bernard and Helené (DeCoste) Bellefontaine. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton. In younger years, he was employed with J. A. Doyle & Son Fisheries, Lismore and later with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation. Prior to retirement in 1985, he had been employed as a rock crusher operator with Schurman Concrete Limited for many years at the former Broadway location. Joseph enjoyed hunting, carpentry, working on cars and listing to classic country music.
Surviving are sons, Steve (Amie) Bellefontaine, Trenton; Joseph (Marie) Marr, Westville; Dennis (Jen) Marr, Toronto; Wayne Marr, Stellarton; grandchildren, Danica, Brittany, Stephanie, David M., Kenda, Raymond, Catherine, David, Anne, Kevin and Chris; sister, Cecile (Enos) Greencorn, Port Felix; nieces, Laurena Greencorn, New Glasgow; Elizabeth Greencorn, Pictou; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Eileen (Barry) Bellefontaine; brothers, Jerome, William and Anthoné Bellefontaine.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8th in the chapel with Father Peter MacDonald presiding.
