Obituary of Annie Emmaline Jean Morrison

NEW GLASGOW – Annie Emmaline Jean Morrison, 86, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at home. Born in Sutherland’s River, she was a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Statira Emma (Pushie) MacLellan. In earlier years, she had been a drapery seamstress for several New Glasgow businesses. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. Jean was a member of the New Glasgow 55 Plus Club and the Ukulele Band. She enjoyed painting and crafts, especially, tole painting and ceramics. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Surviving are her children, Diane (Art), Westville; Ralph (Lynda), Swan Hills, Alta.; Mary (Ken), Leduc, Alta.; Robert (Leslie), Trenton; grandchildren, Wanda (David), Jamie, Matthew, Jessica (Dan), Kenny (Marty), Suzanne (Dale), Jacqueline, Bruce, Shannon and Jana Lynne; great-grandchildren, Ian, Nya, Lily, Abby, Kelly, Kenny Jr., Laura, Tony, Brandon, Savannah, Shawn, Connor and Kaylei Jean; several great, great-grandchildren; brother, Palmer (Violet), New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews; “special daughter”, Linda and family; traveling companion, Betty. She was predeceased by her husband, I. Eugene Morrison; granddaughter, Charlene. There will be no visitation at Jean’s request. A private graveside service will be held in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Pictou County SPCA. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
