MACLELLAN’S BROOK – Daniel Joseph “Danny” MacLeod, 49, MacLellan’s Brook, formerly of Piedmont, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Daniel Robert and Sadie Mae (Crawford) MacLeod, Piedmont. Danny was a crane operator with A.W. Leil Cranes and Equipment for 27 years, having previously been employed with Williams Bros Limited, Barney’s River. Danny was a hard worker who devoted his life to looking after his family. Danny enjoyed fishing on the lake at Brown’s Mountain and hunting on “his mountain” in Piedmont. Danny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Mary Anastasia (Boutilier); daughters, Stacey Danielle MacLeod, Coalburn; Ashley Margaret MacLeod, Thorburn; “chosen son”, Jonathan Boutilier, Thorburn; granddaughter, Aubrie Jaye MacLeod; sisters, Joyce (Daryl) Richard, Piedmont; Mary-Jo MacLeod (Derwin Bowden), Black Point; brother, Brian (Debbie) MacLeod, Avondale; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Marg Boutilier, Thorburn; many nieces, nephews and close friends. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Thorburn No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Danny’s memory to those he loved dearly, his family.
