Obituary of Dawn Ann Zinck
NEW GLASGOW – Dawn Ann Zinck, 47, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Dorance Campbell and Joan Freda (Gay) Zinck, Linacy. She was employed as a fish plant worker with Cape John Seafoods Ltd. prior to becoming ill. Previously she had been employed with Ming’s Restaurant, North Nova Sea Foods and Arisaig Fisheries.
Surviving besides her parents, are her daughters, Joanmarie, Saint John, N.B.; Ashley, Springville; son, Jonathan, at home; her children’s father, John Rector, Biggar, Sask.; brother, Robert (Debbie) Zinck, Fredericton; sister, Darlene (Fraser) Kirwan, Linacy; sister-in-law, Diane Tibbo, New Glasgow; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers, Ronnie and Eric; nephews, Nicholas Zinck (in infancy) and Fraser David Kirwan.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at Dawn’s request. A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. A reception will follow in the Linacy Fire Hall.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
