Obituary of Edna Mary Gratto

NEW GLASGOW – Edna Mary Gratto, 87, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Nelson Street, New Glasgow and Trenton, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 in the manor. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (O’Neil) Avery. She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Edna was an avid bingo and card player for many years. Surviving are daughters, Jean (Frank) Craig, Trenton; Linda (Tom) Terpstra, London, Ont.; Janet (Andy) Goodwin, MacLellan’s Brook; Margaret MacIntosh (Morris MacDermid), New Glasgow; Sharon MacNeil (Wayne MacPherson), Oshawa, Ont.; Paula Kenney, Brenda (Neil) MacPherson, New Glasgow; son, Raymond Gratto, New Glasgow; sister, Gert Hudry, Stellarton; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by husband, Raymond Douglas Gratto; sisters, Jean Walsh, her nine-month old twin, Gladys Avery; brothers, Francis and Clarence Avery. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to Glen Haven Manor, 739 East River Road, New Glasgow, NS B2H 5E9. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
