EGERTON – John Angus Jerome Cheverie MacDonald, 62, Egerton, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Elizabeth MacDonald, Ardness and the late Anthony Lawrence MacDonald. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Egerton. He was a salesperson for many years and had been employed with the former W. A. O’Farrell’s Chev Olds, New Glasgow. Jerome was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Surviving besides his mother are his wife of 30 years, Claire (MacDonald); sons, Christopher (Briana), New Glasgow; Barrett, Egerton; Tyler (Allie), Fort McMurray; daughter, Megan (Brian) Coffin and grandson, Grayer Jerome, Egerton; sisters, Shirley (Francis) MacMillan, Trenton; Debby (James) Mahoney, Ardness; Joyce (Neil) MacGillivray, Brierly Brook; brothers, Larry, Ardness; John (Jo-Ann), Ardness; Brad (Wendy), New Glasgow; Peter (Marion), Ardness; Edgar (Marion), Ashdale; Louie (Grace), Ardness; brother-in-law, David MacPherson, Arisaig; many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by sister, Mary J. MacPherson; sister-in-law, Cecilia Ann. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23rd in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24th in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Egerton with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or VON Pictou County.
