NEW GLASGOW - Della Marie Levy, 75, New Glasgow, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Rockley, Nova Scotia she was a daughter of the late Cecil Harry and Clara Elizabeth (Millett) Smith. She was a member of First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow. Also was on the executive of the Abercrombie Volunteer Fire Department where she was secretary for a number of years. Owner operator along with her husband of the Abercrombie Variety and Video for many years. Della also worked tirelessly along with Ron in running Central Highland Association of the Disabled. Enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and angels. Loved her family dearly and the people around her also felt her presence. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Ron; daughter, Tanya (Paul) Sanderson, Port Hawkesbury; son, Bruce Levy, New Glasgow; sister, Linda (Gary) Bickerton, Amherst; Gary (Judy) Smith, Edmonton, Alta; grandchildren, Julien, Gilbert, Della Jean “D.J.” and Rowan. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 11, from 2-4p.m. & 7-9 p.m. in P & K MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Stanton presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Abercrombie cemetery.
