NEW GLASGOW – Frank Chennell, 76, New Glasgow, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Frank and Isabella “Ella” (Dunbar) Chennell. Prior to retirement, he was employed at Michelin Tire, Granton. Frank enjoyed sports, especially baseball and hockey. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always the first person to lend a helping hand. Surviving are his daughter, Shelley Chennell (Kenny Cyr), Plymouth; granddaughter, Chrysa, Trenton; niece, Coreen (Fraser) MacPherson, New Glasgow; sister, Anne (Jack) Watters, Joan Chennell, Westville; brother, Robert Chennell, Westville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, June (Fraser) Chennell; brother, John Chennell. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at Frank’s request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to any charity of choice.
