THORBURN – Cyril Edwin Hugh Munroe, 65, Thorburn, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Donald Baxter and Catherine June (MacDonald) Munroe. Cyril was employed in various capacities, but his favorite job was as a School Bus driver for East Pictou Rural High School. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage, fishing, hunting and sharing life with his family and friends. Cyril found humour in many things, delighting in sharing his musings with those close by. He will be remembered for his free spirit, enjoyment of life and love of family. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Charlotte (MacDonald); daughter, Crystal (Todd) Snell, Thorburn; son, Lance (Shalene) Munroe, Thorburn; grandchildren, Ethan (Emma), Eliza, Caleb and Chloe, Thorburn; sisters, Dolly Walsh (Laurie Williams), Egerton; Linda Ferguson, Halifax; brothers, Donald (Sandra) Munroe, Chance Harbour; Clifford Munroe, Stellarton; sisters-in-law, Aldena MacDonald (Bill Geddes), Union Center; Doris (Donald) Patterson, Thorburn; brothers-in-law, Finley (Vanda) MacDonald, Waterside; Ricky (Monique) MacDonald, Sylvester; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Leonard Munroe; brother-in-law, Bill Ferguson. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 29th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, followed by prayers and reflection at 8 p.m. with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. Family flowers only.
