I remember Insp.Wright from the 60's in Nfld. He was like a breath of fresh air to us. Humorous and approachable with no airs. He was a true gentleman in that he treated everyone alike regardless of rank. He brings back a lot of great memories.

I was truly saddened by this news. So very glad to have visited Doug and Beryl just prior to departure south for winter. Having come to know them as neighbours, I regarded Doug and Beryl as good friends. Doug was particularly helpful to me at a time when my lawn was not doing as well as it could. He never stopped "keeping an eye" to it subsequently.! Also, I'll treasure many memories of our coffee outings . . . . . . . .during which we used to settle the affairs of the entire country!! Our world needs many more people of Douglas Wright's high character. May he rest in peace

Mr. Wright as my sister and I knew him was our friendly "gentle giant" neighbor on Canfield Ct. He would show Jayne and I his beautiful vegetable garden and his flowers that he was very proud of. We loved going over to Mr. Wright's house as he and Beryl would always have some treats for us :) He will be sorrily missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Beryl, Wenda, Sheryl and family, l was very sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Glenn and I always had a great fondness for him and so enjoyed our visits on Christmas Eve. His stories were legendary and he always held us captive with his colourful discription of his postings in the north. My heart is heavy for you all though I know Doug has left you with a world full of wonderful memories. His love for you all will be a great comfort for you now. Sending hugs and love.

Doug will be greatly missed, I have many fond memories of him teaching me some of his "trapping" magic and getting me to clean his old flintlock rifle when I was a kid. I believe if I look hard enough I can still find the hip waders he gave me oh so many years ago. Rest easy my old friend.

He was a good friend of my dad as they served together in B Division. I first met Doug when I was a boy on a fishing trip in Newfoundland. I had the honor of knowing him later in life as a member of the Force as well. He was a legend for his policing prowess in Cape Breton...the definition of a member and man.

A/Comm Doug Wright has been a major part of my working and personal live for many years, His gardening, hunting, trapping, picking berries, were all important to him, and just as much, the Graves Inspection Program of the Nova Scotia Vererans' Association was also important. He spent many hours locating, finding, and attending to graves along the 102 Hwy for many Years, and in later years, I assisted him with that, as he resisted all efforts turn this over to someone else (me).....He and I especially connected on our service in the Northwest Territories. he spent some wonderful years as Officer in Charge of Corner Brook Sub/Division in Newfoundland, which encompassed my home on the Northern Peninsula. That area was special to him for all the trout fishing trips he made there, and truly loved it. Godspeed Doug, you will be missed....
