Obituary of Charlotte Ruth Kelly
TRENTON – Charlotte Ruth Kelly (Forbes), 85, Trenton, formerly of Little Harbour, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Ruth J. (Robertson) Forbes and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Charlotte was a staff member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Squadron 397, Trenton and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, Trenton. She was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, a talented baker and an amazing cook, who enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and spending time with family. Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Surviving are daughter; Catherine Kelly, Trenton; sons, Wayne (Lorraine) Kelly, Hatchet Lake; Harold (Janet) Kelly, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Brittany, Jordan and Hunter; great grandchildren, Griffin and Nathaniel; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Jean Forbes, Lois Kirkcaldy, Mary McCrae and Willena “Billy” Hilliam; brothers, James Hugh in infancy and Douglas.
The family will receive visitors 1 – 1:50 p.m., Sunday, September 15th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gail Johnston-Murdock officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
The Kelly family extend heart felt thanks to the Pictou County VON, Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care staff, Dr. Masha Ghoreisi and Dr. Anne Kwasnik for the wonderful care Charlotte received.
