Obituary of Gordon Leslie Reid
PLYMOUTH – Gordon L. Reid, 78, Plymouth, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in North Sydney, he was a son of the late Frederick and Martha Grace (Wheeler) Reid. He had been employed with the former MT&T for 40 years, retiring as District 2 Supervisor in 1988. He was an adherent of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton and a life member of the Aliant Pioneers. Gordon enjoyed watching sports on TV, gardening and spending time at his hunting camp in Barrachois.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Evelyn May (Little) Reid; son, Kim Reid, Plymouth; sister, Loraine Lees, North Sydney; brothers, Stan Reid, Donald (Isabell) Reid, Kelowna, B.C.; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Pauline and Marguerite Reid; brothers, Cyril and Roy Reid.
A graveside service will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney with Ms. Norma Mills officiating. Arrangements in North Sydney are entrusted to W. J. Dooley Funeral Home.
