Obituary of Nancy Marie Peddle

DURHAM - Nancy Marie Peddle, 69, Durham, formerly of Mira, Cape Breton, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, April 24, 2012, surrounded by her family in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Bernie “Papa” and Frances Eileen (Hill) (Geddes) MacPhee, and the late Frederick Herman Geddes. Prior to retirement in 2003, she was employed with Aramark as manager and cook at Michelin Tire, Granton. She was currently self-employed, providing catering service throughout Pictou County. Nancy sought to help others throughout her life and had volunteered with Pictou County Helpline for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all, spending time with her family. A person of faith, Nancy believed that “life changes but it does not end”, she awaited a joyful reunion with loved ones gone. She will be sadly missed by those that loved her. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Gordon; daughters, Lisa Rogers, Thorburn; Lori (Scott) Morrison, West River Station; Kathi (Doug) MacConnell, Pleasant Valley; grandsons, Ryan (Christina), Andrew, Brook, Morgan; great-grandson, Jaxson; sisters, Beverly (Daniel) Neville, Linda Nickerson, Sydney; Debi (Joe) MacNeil, Christmas Island; brothers, Fred, Boston; Bernie, Island View; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Sylvia “DoDo” and Frances “Frankie”. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to the IWK Health Centre Foundation or World Vision Canada.
