NEW GLASGOW - Estelle Vivian Grant, 86, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Halifax, died Friday, November 20, 2015 in the manor. Born in New Glasgow on May 23, 1929, she was the only child of the late J. Percy and Blanche Edith (Atwater) Grant. In earlier years, Estelle was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance, New Glasgow and from 1970 until retirement was employed with Maritime Medical Care, Halifax. She had been an active volunteer with the I.O.D.E. and Canadian Cancer Society for many years. Estelle enjoyed many summers at her cottage in Little Harbour. Surviving are her cousins, Lee Mawdsley and Noreen Morrison, New Glasgow; Senator Joan Fraser, Montreal, Que. A Celebration of Estelle's life will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Summer Street Industries, 72 Park Street, New Glasgow. Interment will follow in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations may be made in Estelle’s memory to Glen Haven Manor Recreation Fund or any charity of choice.
