Obituary of Roger Brian Earle

NEW GLASGOW - Roger Brian Earle, 68, New Glasgow passed away peacefully Monday, May 20, 2013 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Earnest and Ruby (Kelsey) Earle. He was a member of Trinity United Church. Roger was a Jeweller and Watchmaker for over 30 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch No. 34, New Glasgow where he was Chaplain for a number of years. Also was C.O. of Trenton Air Cadets for a number of years. He enjoyed bowling and playing darts with his friends. Roger was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Gordena (Gibson) Earle; children, Terry (Lisa), New Glasgow; Marlene, Brampton, Ont.; Darrell, Scarborough, Ont.; sisters, Margo, Dartmouth; Bon, California, USA; brothers, Hubert (Gail), Upper Sackville; Earnest (Annette), Kingston, Ont.; grandchildren, Katrina, Courtney, Shiann, Nya and Denise; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 23 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Robert Gibson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Roger’s memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch No. 34, New Glasgow or any charity of choice.
