NEW GLASGOW - Roger Brian Earle, 68, New Glasgow passed away peacefully Monday, May 20, 2013 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Earnest and Ruby (Kelsey) Earle. He was a member of Trinity United Church. Roger was a Jeweller and Watchmaker for over 30 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch No. 34, New Glasgow where he was Chaplain for a number of years. Also was C.O. of Trenton Air Cadets for a number of years. He enjoyed bowling and playing darts with his friends. Roger was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Gordena (Gibson) Earle; children, Terry (Lisa), New Glasgow; Marlene, Brampton, Ont.; Darrell, Scarborough, Ont.; sisters, Margo, Dartmouth; Bon, California, USA; brothers, Hubert (Gail), Upper Sackville; Earnest (Annette), Kingston, Ont.; grandchildren, Katrina, Courtney, Shiann, Nya and Denise; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 23 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Robert Gibson officiating. Family flowers only.
