Obituary of G. Maitlyn Stewart
LANTZ/LINACY – G. Maitlyn “Mait” Stewart, 97, Lantz, formerly of Linacy, Telford and Country Harbour, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Goldboro, he was a son of the late George William and Effie Louise (Hodgson) Stewart. Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a welder with Maritime Steel and Foundry for over 40 years. Mait enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and reading.
Surviving are daughters, Jean (Bill) Rockey, Rossfield; Mary (Joe) Fitzpatrick, Country Harbour; Phyllis (Blair) Fraser, New Glasgow; Trudy Stewart (Warren), Kennetcook; Brenda Robinson, Shubenacadie; sons, James (Joan) Stewart, Telford; George (Mariea) Stewart, Lantz; Barry (Jean) Stewart, Woodburn; sister, Beryle Nicholson, Ottawa; Elizabeth (Bill) Green, Country Harbour; 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great, great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Clara Mae (Moore); second wife, Alva (Moore) (Foote); third wife, Stella (McCara) (Waugh); grandson, Timmie; two great-grandchildren in infancy; sisters, Lill and Thelma; brothers, Raymond, Gar, Gordon and Wilber.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Rev. Ryan King officiating. Interment will be in Telford Cemetery.
