Cecil was a quiet, gentle, grace-filled man. We enjoyed his visit to us in Gibsons. We also enjoyed Cecil and Margaret's kind hospitality when we visited them in New Glasgow many years ago. We stayed overnight and were treated to wonderful meals and a visit to Peggy's Cove. Cecil and Margaret obviously did a good job in order to create such wonderful children as Sandra and Ken. It is a pleasure to reflect on his faith and long service to God. I think you have it right when you trust that Cecil will have heard Jesus' "Well done, good and faithful servant." Dear Sandra and family, Vern and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to all the family on the passing of Reverend Cecil. We were blessed to have Cecil come into our lives when he married our Aunt Mildred and have many fond memories of our visits with them either with family in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We will always remember him for his winning smile, that twinkle in his eyes, his positive and caring manner....always a joy to be with him!! He was a great conversationalist and listener. As others have mentioned in their messages, he truly was a most loving and kind gentleman. We will miss him very much!! May you find comfort in knowing that so many send their heartfelt condolences and caring thoughts to you during this grievous time. With our deepest sympathy and love, Jan & Vern

Dear Sandra, Kenneth and family, my condolences. Always loved hearing and having your dad serve our parish in Pictou during my youth. Perhaps a wee bit of levity would be in order here. He did regular visits to his parishioners homes. It was close to Christmas one year he stopped by. We had two loving rooms in the house and two trees. Mom decorated hers in the front bay window, while us three girls decorated the family room one. So he was remarking on the girls tree stating it was in the “early stages of development”, when actually us girls were completely done decorating it. Lol. I miss those church and Sunday school days, the Sunday school picnics... and the Book of Common Prayer services which have almost gone by the wayside. Sympathies to the families. Rebecca, Amber, Rachel.
