Obituary of Phyllis Elizabeth Fraser
NEW GLASGOW – Phyllis Elizabeth Fraser, 59, Edmonton, Alta., formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 in St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital, Edmonton, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Maitlyn “Mait” and Clara Mae (Moore) Stewart. Phyllis was employed with the Town of New Glasgow for over 15 years and with Play Pen Pets, Edmonton prior to ill health. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, playing bingo and camping. Phyllis was a kind and loving lady who put her family first.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Blair; daughter, Gina-Mae (Micheal) Guthro, Edmonton; granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Guthro; sisters, Jean (Bill) Rockey, Rossfield; Mary (Joe) Fitzpatrick, Country Harbour; Trudy (Warren) Pidgeon, Kennetcook; Brenda Robinson (Laurie), Shubenacadie; brothers, James (Joan) Stewart, Telford; George (Mariea) Stewart, Country Harbour; Barry (Jean) Stewart, Stellarton; several aunts; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a niece and two nephews.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday May 6th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday May 7th in the chapel with Rev. Ryan King officiating. Interment will be in Telford Cemetery.
