Obituary of Lauretta Isabelle Henley

TRENTON – Lauretta Isabelle Henley, 76, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 8, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Alfred and Mildred May (Rector) Farnell. Lauretta was a talented baker and quilt maker, spending many hours perfecting her craft. She enjoyed horseback riding in younger years and was an avid Harlequin Romance novel reader all her life. Lauretta was a caring and resilient lady who possessed a quick wit and unwavering love for her family. Surviving are daughters, Mary Jane Henley, Trenton; Bonnie Crook, New Glasgow; son, Arthur Henley, Trenton; grandchildren, Ross (Brandy), Frank, Joey (Sarah) and Megan; great-grandchildren, Brodie, Alice, Cohen, Tatum, Carter, Xavier and Allister; sisters, Hazel Henley, New Glasgow; Greta Rector, Antigonish; sister-in-law, Luella Farnell, Upper Musquodoboit; brother-in-law, Charlie (Joanie) Henley, Upper Musquodoboit; numerous nieces and nephews. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Brodie Arthur Henley; daughter, Viola and son, David in infancy; sisters, Amy Fleming and Grace Fleming; brother, George Farnell; sister-in-law, Amy Gail; brothers-in-law, Donald Henley, Avery Fleming, Bob Dort, Bob Fleming, Russell Henley, Stewart Henley, Wilfred Henley, Leroy Henley, Howard Henley, Harrison Henley and Marshall Henley. Lauretta’s family will celebrate her life privately. Donations may be made in Lauretta’s memory to Earth Arc Rescue.
