Obituary of Bryan Roy Ballantyne
TOTTENHAM, ONT. / WOODBURN – Bryan Roy Ballantyne, 47, Tottenham, Ont., formerly of Woodburn, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 3, 2009 due to heart failure.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Catherine Ann (Bryan) Freeborn and the late George Howard Ballantyne. He attended East Pictou Rural High School. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Bryan worked for many years at Michelin Tire Canada, Granton, before transferring to Ontario. He was recently employed as a Quality Engineer with Ventra.
Surviving are his mother, Catherine (Larry) Freeborn, Abercrombie ; son, Jason, Halifax; daughters, Julia, New Glasgow; Morgan, Newmarket, Ont.: sisters, Claire (George) Tulle, Calgary, Alta.; Karen (Murdo) MacNeil, New Glasgow; Heather (Dom) Chieffo, Calgary; uncle, Herbert (Alice) Bryan, New Glasgow: aunt, Marion Gadsden, Kamloops, B.C.; nieces, Megan and Carolyn Tulle; Stephanie, Maria and Domenica Chieffo; nephew, Joel MacNeil.
He was predeceased by his father, Howard; maternal grandparents, Hector and Evelyn Bryan; paternal grandparents, Roy and Alice Ballantyne.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, August 3rd in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Rev. Peter MacDonald presiding. Private interment will be in the Woodburn Cemetery.
