Obituary of Mary Georgina David
PICTOU – Mary Georgina “Georgie” David, 74, Pictou, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, November 23, 2010.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Frederick John and Mary Louise (Renners) Doucette. She had been a home maker most of her life, having been employed at Grohmann Knives, Pictou and the former Clairtone. Georgie enjoyed playing cards with her family and travelling with her husband, Fred throughout the Maritimes. In earlier years she was an avid Bingo player.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick Arthur David; daughters, Anna Marie Gerrior (Henry Nairn), Hamilton, Ont.; Katreena Murphy (Roger Hurley), Springville; sons, Wayne MacBain (Pat Cahoon), Calgary, Alta.; Paul MacBain, Oyster Bed, P.E.I.; step-daughters, Mary David, Westville Road; Rose Lynch, Pictou; step-sons, Robert David, Joseph (Teri) David, Pictou; Kevin (Sandra) David, Summerside, P.E.I.; Fred Jr. (Twilla) David, Eureka; sisters, Anna DeMont, MacLellan’s Brook; Ruby (Freeman) Croucher, Thorburn; brother, Daniel F. (Dolores) Doucette, Kelona, B.C.; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughters, Linda Hayne and Donna Nairn; brother, Raymond Doucette.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Georgie’s request. Donations may be made in Georgie’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
