Obituary of John Peter Campbell
LINACY – John Peter Campbell, 97, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Northumberland Veterans Unit, and formerly of Linacy, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in the Unit.
Born in Moose River, Pictou County, he was a son of the late Roderick Alexander and Elizabeth Alena (Craigie) Campbell. He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church, Stellarton. During the Second World War, John served in Aldershot and England with the 65th Tank Transport. Prior to retirement, he was employed with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for many years. He possessed a deep faith in his Lord and his love for family was unfailing.
Surviving are daughters, Irene (Raymond) MacLeod, Kenzieville; Beverley Dobbin (Rick), Edmonton, Alta.; Elsie MacGillivray, British Columbia; Betty Jordan, New Glasgow; son, John, Linacy; grandchildren, Sandy, Cathy, Sabina, Harry, Connie, Alisha, Dale; great-grandchildren, Khia, Juliette, Ainjelina, Danica and Santana; sister, Emma Campbell, New Glasgow; brother, Franklyn Campbell, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Constance “Connie” Campbell; sister, Christena DeYoung.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 15th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16th in the chapel with Pastor Vincent Hanley and Pastor Duane Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Moose River Cemetery.
